Birth of Alfred George Croucher in FreeBMD in July-September 1878 in Wandsworth (1d 609) which included Battersea.

In the 1881 census as Alfred Croucher aged 2, born in Battersea and living with his parents (Alfred and Elizabeth), and three sisters (Alice, Emma and Mary) at 7 Gladstone Place, Lambeth, London.

From Tom Croucher in Australia, Alfred George Croucher was born on 17 June 1878 in Battersea, London, parents Alfred Robert Croucher and Elizabeth Anne Treasure. He emigrated to Australia with the rest of the family arriving in Sydney on 23 May 1884. He married Eleanor Neilson Anderson on 31 (sic) January 1901 at Waterloo, London (sic). They had seven children, the first five born in Ultimo, Sydney, and the last two in Seaforth, Sydney. In true family tradition Alfred worked with his hands and learnt trades such as Building, Painting, Paperhanging. He had his own contracting and general repair business. Also in true family tradition he was a Lay Reader in the Anglican Church, and helped with the building of St Andrews Anglican Church in Sans Souci. He died at his home in 12 Plimsoll Street, Sans Souci, on 13 Aug 1934 aged only 56, of Acute Nephritis. His wife Eleanor survived him by another 38 years and the family lived mainly in Sans Souci.

The following information was on Ted Pearc's site but is no longer there: Alfred George Croucher married Eleanor Neilson Anderson on 3 (sic) January 1901 at Waterloo, NSW, Australia at St Silas CofE 171 Bontony Road, Waterloo. They had seven children. Alfred George Croucher died during the 1930's.
