The family returned to Cuckfield after her mother's death in 1879.

There is a submitted entry in the IGI for Annie Croucher born 7 July 1875, parents Isaac Croucher and Rebecca Pattenden, and her marriage to Alfred Bennett in 1894 in Cuckfield, Sussex. However I believe the marriage date and place to be incorrect as there is no corresponding entry in the Register of Marriages.

Her first two sons were born in Bromley and the third in Carshalton so they moved about 1899.

There are three entries in RootsWeb WorldConnect for Annie Croucher born 1876 in Linton, Derbyshire, parents Isaac Croucher and Rebecca Pattenden. John Pattenden has an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Annie Croucher with the same information, and there is two other very similar entries. Robert Furmedge has an entry giving her birth on 7 July 1885 in Burton-on-Trent, Derbyshire, parents Isaac Croucher and Rebecca Pattenden, her marriage to Alfred Bennett in 1894 in Cuckfield, and the three sons (the information on Alfred George is incorrect). There some seventeen other similar entries, several with her marriages Bromley in January-March 1897 and in six adding her death in Hampstead on 1 December 1901. Some others put her birth in Warlingham, and others adda a daughter Alice May Bennett born and died in Cuckfield in 1897/1898 (actually born and died in Bromley, and her birth was too close to that of Alfred to have the same mother).

Linton is 5 miles south of Burton-on-Trent, and Church Gresley is a mile north of Linton..
