In the 1841 census as Elen Crouter aged 8 months, born in Hampshire, and living with Charles and Edith (parents?) and Mary (sister?) in Boldre, Hampshire.
In the 1851 census as Ellen Croucher aged 10, born in Boldre and living with her parents (Charles and Edith), brother (Henry C) and sister (Harriett) in Portmore, Boldre.
Her daughter was born just two months before the census in Boldre. I assume the father was Simeon Holes. Her birth was registered twice, once as Alice Louisa Croucher and the second time as Alice Louise Holes.
In the 1861 census as Ellen Croucher aged 20, born in Boldre, unmarried, no stated employment and living with her parents (Charles and Edith), daughter (Alice Louisa Croucher), nephew (Walter C Jeans although I cannot identify his parents) at Portmore Common, Boldre.
