Christening of Frederick Croucher in the IGI on 9 September 1829 in Rye, Sussex, parents William and Ann Croucher.
In the 1841 census as Frederick Croucher aged 10, born in Sussex, and living with William (father?), Ann (mother?), Alfred, George, Owens and Williamss (brothers?) , Elizabeth and Mary (sisters?) and J Moore (aged 20, born in Sussex, a lodger? and a mariner) at Gun Garden, Rye, Sussex.
In the 1861 census as F Croucher aged 31, born in Rye, Sussex, married and a stoker on the Normanby, a 311 ton steam ship between West Hartlepool where she was register and Hamburg - there where 12 othes on board.
In the 1881 census as Fredk Crowcher aged 51, born in Rye, Sussex, married, 1st Engineer and on the Middleton a 268 ton schooner registered in Kings Lynn between Hamburg and Lynn and at Kaiser Quay, Hamburg - there were 12 others on board.
There is an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for Frederick Croucher born about 1829, parents William and Ann Croucher. There are three other entries for Frederick Croucher born 1829 in Sussex, parents William and Ann CHeditch, but I believe these are the wrong parents. Two other entries give his bith in 1831 but christening on 9 September 1829 in Rye, Sussex, parents William and Ann Croucher. Another entry giving his birth in 1831 gives his parents as William Croucher and Ann Gammon which I believe to be correct.
I cannot find any record of either his marriage or death, but believe he married in Hamburg and had a daughter Wilhelmina Christine Margaritta Frederick Croucher born about 1858 in Hamburg and who married in Hastings in 1880.
