There is an entry in the Pedigree Resource File for the birth of James Croucher in 1815 in Dibden, Hardley, Hampshire, father William Croucher, his christening on 20 February 1814 in Hardley, Hampshire (although there is a Hardley very close to Dibden, I believe this has been confused with the christening in Headley on the same date), the 1861-1881 censuses, his marriage to Mary, and his death in 1882 in Medway, Hampshire (note however that Medway is in Kent, not Hampshire and though the age is correct in FreeBMD I believe it is the wrong entry).
In the 1841 census as James Croutcher (on original) aged 25 (rounded down to a multiple of 5), born in England, employed as a male servant and living with Mary (wife?) aged 30, Amelia and Louisa (daughters?) in Charles Street, St. Helier, Jersey.
In the 1851 census as James Croucher aged 36, born in Dibdin, Hampshire, employed as a coachman/domestic servant, and living with his wife (Mary aged 41 and born in Prinity, Jersey, Channel Islands), two sons (Thomas and William J), and two daughters (Amelia, Ann, Louisa and Sarah) at 2 Williams Place, Walcot, Lansdown, Somerset.
In the 1861 census as James Croucher aged 46, born in Dibden, Hampshire, employed as a coachman/domestic servant, and living with his wife (Mary aged 48 and born in Jersey), two sons (Thomas and William J), and two daughters (Amelia J and Sarah A) in East Wells, Wells St Cuthbert Out, Somerset.
In the 1871 census as James Croucher aged 56, born in Dibden, Hampshire, employed as a coachman/domestic servant and living with his wife and granddaughter (Alice M Loxton daughter of Amelia Jane and William Loxton) at Newtown, Paulton, Somerset.
There is an entry in FreeBMD for the death of Mary Croucher in October-December 1879 aged 69 in Bath (5c 431).
In the 1881 census as James Croucher aged 66, born in Dibden, a widower, employed as a labourer and living with his two daughter (Louisa Perkins) and granddaughter (Ellen Brooks aged 16, born in Clifton, Gloucestershire, unmarried, and employed as sail manufacturer machinist - the index states daughter but she is his grandaughter on original, but I am not sure who her parents are) at 33 Deacon Street, Bristol St George, Gloustershire.
Death of James Croucher in FreeBMD in October-December 1884 aged 70 in Bath (5c 426) - this did not include the Bristol area so if it is the correct entry he must have moved after the 1881 census.
His wife Mary was born in about 1813 in Trinity, Jersey, and the first two children were born in Jersey so I assume he married there, and they moved to England between 1841 and 1848.
There is an entry in Ancestry Public Member Trees for James Croucher born in about 1815 in Dibden, Hampshire, his marriage to Mary Picot born in Jersey, Channel Islands in 1813, his six children, and entries in the 1851-1881 censuses.
