The same information is in the Botley Parish Registers adding her father was a taylor.

There is an entry in the 1841 census for Jane Croucher aged 18, born in Hampshire, employed as a female servant, and living with William Lukey (aged 25, born in Hampshire and employed as a draper) and two other female servants (Maria Webb aged 40 and Ann Lay aged 20) at Bishops Waltham, Hampshire but there are at least two other Jane Crouchers this could refer to. However she was not with her parents.

In the 1861 census as Jane Cox aged 38, born in Botley and living with her husband (John), two sons (Arthur and John H) and daughter (Ellen), and a lodger (Harriett Fellowes, aged 37, born in Portsea, unmarried and employed as a tailoress) and her son (Thomas A Fellowes aged 8 and born in Portsea) at 50 Ivy Street, Landport, Portsea, Hampshire.

In the 1871 census as Jane Cox, aged 47, born in Botley, and living with her husband (John ), their two sons (Arthur and John H), and two daughters (Alice L and Ellen) and a relative (her brother Alfred Croucher) at 31 High Field Street, Portsea, Hampshire.
