In the 1881 census as Henry (sic - on the original) B Croucher aged 1, born in Kingston, Surrey and living with his parents (John and Elizabeth), and sister (Anna M) at 6 Wells Cottages, Fairfield Rd, Kingston on Thames, Surrey.

The family had moved to Wimbledon by 1886 from the birth of his sister Ada, and to Wandsworth after 1887 from the birth of Eleanor.

In the 1891 census as John H Croucher aged 11, born in Kingston, Surrey, and living with his parents (John and Elizabeth), four sisters (Ada B, Eleanor L, Hannah M, and Jannie E) and a housekeeper (Matilda Bridgewood aged 52, born in Pattingham, Staffordshire and single) at 93 Haldon Road, Wandsworth, London.

His daughter Elizabeth was born in Derby in 1915 and the other children in Southampton in 1917-1919.

His third name comes from his grandmother's maiden name Ann Barnes - he also had a granduncle Henry Barnes Croucher.

An email from Héloïse Fella states he was in the navy, he died of cancer and his death was registered by his sister Eleanor Louise.
