Her mother died in Hambledon in 1894.

In the 1901 census as Clara Mullard aged 13, born in Witley, Surrey, and living with George Raynsford, his wife (Eliza), two sons (Allen and Bernard - her future husband), and daughter (Mary) in Grayswood Lane, Witley, Surrey.

Marriage of Clara Ann and Clara Annie Mullard (both entries are on the typed original) to Bernard Raynsford in FreeBMD in July-September 1906 in Chertsey (2a 129).

Her daughter was born in Walton on Thames in March 1907 and christened in Haslemere in July 1907.

Her husband died in Hambledon in 1908.

In the 1911 census as Clara Ann Raynsford aged 23, born in Witley, Surrey, widowed, one child still alive, a laundress, and living with her parents-in-law (George and Eliza Raynsford), daughter (Edith May), sister-in-law (Edith Lilian) and a boarder (Albert Barfoot aged 29, born in Froxfield, Hampshire single and a platelayer working for a railway company) in five rooms in Grayswood Lane, Witley, Haslemere, Surrey.

Another entry gives her birth in 1887 and adds her marriage to Arther Smithers in Hambledon in 1913, and her death in Cuckfield, Sussex in 1933. Linda Ann Hardy adds her parents as William Mullard and Ann Hardy.
