Birth of Charlie Hay. Shackleton in FreeBMD in January-March 1875 in Farnham (2a 109). The Hay. may be a mis-typing of Hen. short for Henry.

I cannot find an entry in the 1881 census, but his sister was born in Ireland in about 1882. His brother was born in Islington in 1887, and the family were living at 41 Myddleton Buildings, High Street, Islington in 1888 and 80 Myddleton Buildings, High Street, Islington in 1890.

In the 1891 census as Charles Shackleton aged 17, born in Surrey, employed as a porter on W? R Railway, and living with his parents (Henry and Martha), brother (Percy), and sister (Constance) in 3 rooms at 4 Goodson Road, Fulham, London (the same address was shared with two other families). This was near the crossing of A3218 Lillie Road and B317 North End Road.

Marriage of Charles Shackleton and Elizabeth Letz in FreeBMD in April-June 1895 in Fulham (1a 426).

Entry in Ancestry London, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1921 for Charles Shackleton aged 22, father Henry Shackleton, and Elizabeth Letz, father William Seager on 7 May 1895 at West Kensington St Andrew, Hammersmith and Fulham. "1895 Marriage solemnized at St Andrew's Church in the parish of Fulham in the County of London No 490 May 7th 1895 Charles Shackleton aged 22, a bachelor and a porter of 41 Humbolt Road, father Henry Shackleton, a labourer, and Elizabeth Letz aged 27, a widow of 41 Humbolt Road, father William Seager, a labourer, Married in the Church of St Andrew according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after banns in the Presence of us H Shackleton and Mrs? Shackleton."

His son was born in Fulham in 1896,

In the 1901 census as Charles Shackleton aged 27, born in Farnham, Surrey, and living with his wife (Elizabeth), and son (Harold) at 9 Atalana Road (just south of Fulham Cemetery), Fulham, London (the address is shared with another family).

Entry in Ancestry London, England, Electoral Registers, 1832-1965 for Charles Shackleton address 9 Atalanta Street, Fulham in 1902. Nelson Colegate was living at the same address.

Entry in Ancestry UK, Outward Passenger Lists, 1890-1960 for Charles H Shackleton aged 32, on Manda of the Aberdeen Line travelling second class with Lizzie Shackleton (wife?) and Harold (son?) departing from London on 17 February 1905 to Port Natal. I believe this was the Inanda, a steel steamer built by Hall Russell in Aberdeen, launched in August 1904, registered on 20 September 1904, and owned by John T Rennie. She was 4090 tons gross. She was broken up for scrap at Briton Ferry in 1932 having been renamed Orlando in 1920 and sailed on the Hull North Sea route until 1928.

The following information is from an email from Elizabeth Sommers:
