(In the index he is listed as part of James and Fanny Harris's family who lived in Winifred Cottage, but the original is clear that he lived with his parents.)

His daughter was born in Eastbourne in 1905 and baptised in Churt on 7 January 1906 he was a bricklayer and the family were living at The Barracks, Whitmore Vale, Churt.

In the 1911 census as William Croucher aged 36, born in Churt, Surrey, a bricklayer, and living with his wife (Jane), son (Earnest) and daughter (May) in Hammer Lane, Barford, Churt, Surrey - this is the postal address, physical location is stated to be in Grayshott, Hampshire. I assume this was The Barracks, a row of houses below the Upper Mill Pond where the border goes throgh the middle of the row.

An email states William Stephen Croucher (1873- 1954) was my mother’s grandfather, who she does remember. He lived at Redhearne, and was a bailiff/builder. She has his wife’s details as Jane Gardner, born 1878 in Hawkley, Petersfield, Hants, and died 16/06/1944. Jane’s father’s name was Thomas Gardner. Their two children were Violet May Croucher, and Ernest Frederick Stephen Croucher.
