1293 Havant, Hampshire: Robert and Evelina le Scut (Scott) paid 6/8d for a croft containing 3 acres previously owned by her father Reginald Croch (Crouch).
1293 Havant, Hampshire: Evelina le Scut, relict of Robert paid 10/- to retain a messuage and half a virgate.
1310 Havant, Hampshire: Thomas le Scut paid 40/- for a messuage and half a virgate previously held by his mother Evelina Trouche and Robert le Scut.
Croft - a dwelling house with arable land.
Messuage - a dwelling house and legal rights such as access to commons etc.
Virgate - the Farnham Manor virgate was about 32 modern acres - see Medieval Farnham by Father (Etienne) Robo 1935. I am not sure of its size in Havant.
