Entry in SN4086 Peasant Land Market in Southern England, 1260-1350
states his widow Matilda paid 13/4d to retain a messuage and 5 acres in Langerissh' (Langrish) in 1325. Assuming that this refers to the same messuage as that for Stephen in the 1337 entry, I assume John must have been Stephen's father.

Acre - this would be a customary acre which in Farnham Manor was about half a modern acre (see Winchester Yields by JZ Titow 1972). I am not sure how large it was in the manor of East Meon.
Messuage - a dwelling house and legal rights such as access to commons etc.
