Albert George Croucher was born on 29 July 1879 in Clpaham, London, the fourth son of John James Croucher, he married Millicent Mann or Tuck on 9 March 1909 in Leichhardt, Sydney, and had four children, the first two born in Leichhardt in 1910 amnd 1911, the third in Bexley, Sydney in 1919 and fourth in Rockdale, Sydney in 1928. The 1908 Electoral Roll lists Albert as a Storeman, and the Sands Directory shows that he and Millie lived mainly in Leichhardt or Campsie.
